Marlene King remains mum on ‘City of Bones’ movie, says film ‘moving forward’

After revealing that pre-production on the film adaptation of The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones was moving forward at “warp speed,” screenwriter Marlene King had a meeting on Tuesday with the new The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones director and one of the producers.

While she remained mum on specifics of the film, she did have some encouraging words for the Mortal Instruments fandom.

King said it’s still too early to reveal specifics. Now the question becomes when will we move past this “early” stage and be given some new news?

“All is good.”

Now that’s not what Mortal Instruments fans were hoping to hear, but the fandom can at least take some solace from that until we finally get news.

Cassandra Clare said that Constantin Films was aiming to begin filming in August of this year and a tweet from 2011 revealed that the casting deadline was March 2012, though there is no confirmation that the deadline still applies to the present.
