THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES places second in MTV Movie Brawl 2013
THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES fought a hard nearly month-long battle that began with 40 movies and has placed second in the 2013 MTV Movie Brawl.
THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES was defeated in the finals by fellow YA book-turned-movie THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE by 100,000 votes. Over 10 million votes were cast.
Congrats to THE HUNGER GAMES: CATCHING FIRE for its MTV Movie Brawl 2013 title. It’s definitely one of my Most Anticipated Movies of 2013–after THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES, of course!
Congrats to Cassandra Clare, Sony Pictures, the cast and crew of THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES and to the passionate fans for a spectacular run in the MTV Movie Brawl.

TMI/TiD fandom: Congrats as well, you are also awesome! Of course, I love you, and am biased, but I think in this case, bias is okay. It is so fantastic that you guys made it to the final round of the MTV movie brawl; I mean you beat Man of Steel and Iron Man 3 and Stark Trek: Into Darkness, and that is like, amazing. You should be crazy proud for coming in second. I mean, what came in second last year? The Hunger Games.

That is, actually, a phenomenal accomplishment, doing that well so early. Pat yourselves on the backs, love one another…
With still seven months left until the film hits theaters it is already generating a ton of buzz and that ill only continue to grow in the coming months.

I am so sad we didn’t win but second place is awesome for, like Martin Moszkowicz, a phenomen that have no movie released yet.
In the trailer, is that the battle against the vampires where we see Isabelle with a flamethrower and Alec at Jace and Clary’s side ? Aren’t they supposed to be home ?
I believe that they caught up with Jace and Clary a little later after some fighting. I’m not really sure, though.
I read that after 10 million votes City of Bones lost by 4,000. That is certainly nothing to be ashamed about. THG is a movie that has already been seen and this is the next one in the franchise while TMI is just beginning. Congratulations Shadowhunters.
Exactly! People have already seen The Hunger Games, but no one has seen City of Bones in theatres. So 4,000 is really nothing. That pissed me off so much!
congrats to hunger games! I love hunger games though I wish TMI had down though it’s still amazing we came second! next time and hopefully we’ll win at the 2014 awards! oh and i’m justing an alternate email.
I still think that it is incredible that the City of Bones got so far without having a single movie out yet. The Hunger Games is already such a big franchise that it us no wonder it would be so easily recognised and win. We only fell short 100,000 votes, so we still won in my book!

Ok, so we came in second place. I think it’s a pretty amazing feat that we came in second . There was some hard competition that we did beat. I mean we have 312K likes on our page. HG has 8,500K likes so the fact that TMI is much lesser known out there makes it a huge accomplishment to come in at second place. AND, COB only got beat by 6.66%, so we didn’t loose by all that much. We will come in first place next time!!!!! To Cassie, all the actors and all the crew who worked on the movie – kuddos!!!!! You were all fantastic and Shadowhunters everywhere are proud of you and love you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! xoxoxo ❤ ❤ ❤

In a tournament that notched 10 million votes, the results pointed to a clear, 100,000-vote win for “Catching Fire” over “The Mortal Instruments.”
So to equal 10,000,000 votes and having a difference of 100,000 votes, that means that HG had 5,050,000 votes and COB had 4,950,000 votes. I think that is a pretty close finish!!!
I voted for both movies, so I don’t really mind CoB not winning, since CF is going to be awesome and they are both going to be amazing movies!
So proud of all Shadowhunters, it just goes to show all the haters that Cassie, TMI and her fandom are a force to be reckoned with. We”ll be back next year…
