Atli Örvarsson to score THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES
The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones has a new composer.
Atli Örvarsson will score the first installment of the highly-anticipated Mortal Instruments franchise, reports Film Music Reporter.
Örvarsson also served as composer on Iron Man, Vantage Point and most recently Hansel and Gretel: Witch Hunters and the television show Chicago Fire. He also helped Hans Zimmer in writing music for another highly-anticipated summer flick Man of Steel.
Örvarsson worked with director Harald Zwart on The Karate Kid reboot in 2010, before being replaced by James Horner.
Gabriel Yared was previously attached to score The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones before he was replaced by Örvarsson.

oh wow i love him his work is grate this film is just getting better and better..
I wonder if he’s going to do the theme’s of the characters, such as Simon, Clary, and Jace.
So, are they done with the re-shooting and finishing editing/started scoring? A movie’s music is like its heartbeat and I do believe that if a movie’s soundtrack/score encapsulates the emotions right, there’s all the more reason towards its success.
I’m already loving everything about CoB so far, so I hope they’ll make a killer score and choose the right songs for the soundtrack to top it all.
nice! i liked his score for hansel and gretel! but he’s got some work ahead of him though! the movie’s out in august!
I was putting my hopes up for the previous composer since he’s got an academy award for his music in winter’s bone. Though this one also composed Iron man’s and Man of steel’s soundtracks. We could hope for some intense shit in this movie.
