Katherine McNamara Returns to Her Natural Red Hair Color for ‘Shadowhunters’
Hello there, Clary Fray.
Katherine McNamara, a natural red head, hit the salon on Tuesday to trade in her blonde locks for Clary’s signature hair.
Earlier in the day, Kat posted a photo of the process of returning to her natural red hair color.
Shadowhunters begins filming on May 25 in Toronto and is slated for an early 2016 premiere on ABC Family.

Red hair and green eyes… she so is the perfect Clary
I like it… but I think it should be a little darker red. Kat has more orange hair.
Can we please just be happy that she HAS RED HAIR, unlike the movie version. And she is described as having “carroty hair”…Sure looks like carrots to me.
I agree I would like a darker color I tought Lilly’s hair was better for Clary because I picture Clary with a brighter autum red.
In CoB the book I clearly remember Clary being described as having “Carroty hair” so I’m very happy with her color, I never pictured Clary with dark red air but we all have our own version of her 🙂
Are you kidding me, Liz and TMI_needsthemovie??! Kat’s hair colour is perfect for Clary! Lily’s hair was the most awful. wrong shade of unnatural dark auburn “red” that had absolutely nothing to do with the way Clary was described in the books. This is how Clary was always meant to look.

Oh gosh, this makes me SO happy! I loved Lily, but I wasn’t a fan of her hair color in the movie. I am loving the cast for the show so much. ❤
THIS. This is what Clary is supposed to look like!! She just screams ‘Clary’! I have high hopes for this show now.
I’d call that strawberry blonde but okaayyy. I guess if they think that’s red then good for them. Caus they also think that it’s cool to have Luke be a werewolf detective. Yeah….. It’ll be cancelled within a season as ABC is known for doing.

Knew Katherine when she was a child in Kansas City – trust me – her “natural hair color” is NOT red – it was and still is light brown.
I dont mean to be rude or anything but she is deffanently not a natural redhead. I have red hair and I always get slightly offened when people say shes a natural redhead cause she isnt.
