Matthew and Cordelia go on a car ride in new ‘Chain of Iron’ snippet

The release date of Cassandra Clare’s Chain of Iron is fast approaching – seventy days to go – and we have had a lot of snippets so far, one was a fantastic table read featuring Cassie and many of her author friends! If you want to catch up, you can check out our Chain of Iron snippets tag, but before you do, have a look at the snippet and art that Cassie shared on her tumblr today.

I’d also like to know where these two are going! I hope it is somewhere exciting. I love Cordelia’s friendship with Matthew and hopefully we’ll get to see it blossom even further in Chain of Iron.

Although we are still waiting for the release of Chain of Iron, Cassie is already working on the conclusion to The Last Hours and she recently shared what extra content she would like to include in the final novel.

Hello Cassandra! Do you still intend to write chapter 15 The Whispering Room from James’ POV?

I do though I don’t know when! I thought about doing it as an extra for Chain of Thorns, but I decided that’s going to be the story of the family tree, what it actually is and why there was a messed-up version of it. 🙂 I think it’ll be fun. Keep an eye out for the James POV as a freebie, maybe around Valentine’s?

Super exciting, right? I cannot wait for this explanation!

Chain of Iron is published on March 2, 2021!
