Casting Talk: Could we have a Magnus?
With filming less than two months away on The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones, casting news is set to come plentifully in the coming weeks.
Earlier this week we learned that Jemima West was cast as Isabelle Lightwood and that Alec is cast (but the studio isn’t telling us just yet). And it looks like Simon won’t be cast until July, as his casting has proven to be the most difficult.
Now it looks like we are close to having another casting.
In a chat with fans on Saturday, Cassandra Clare revealed that the studio has agreed on an actor for Magnus, but he isn’t cast yet.
“I think we have a Magnus though,” she wrote. “There’s a Magnus everyone agrees on but he isn;t cast – they have to officially offer.”
A fan asked whether or not he was “relatively known.”
“Well-I knew who he was!” Clare wrote.
Auditions are complete for Magnus and probably the rest of the characters as Clare revealed that there were actors under serious consideration for the remainder of the main roles.
Clare also talked more about what set West apart from the other actresses who auditioned.
“I think a lot of the actresses did Izzy really tough and bitchy. And Jemima did tough but also underlyingly vulnerable.”
City of Bones begins filming in August and is set for an August 23, 2013 theatrical release.

I love all the actors and actresses that have already been confirmed but if someone amazing isn’t chosen for Magnus ,Simon or Alec I don’t really see the point of watching

I would like too, but I prefer knowing who is Alec instead. They SHOULD be able to work together, With God’s favour they will be a couple.

getting anxious here but I love Jemima as Izzy. Jamie, and Lily are gonna be great, and everyone will do great together
i still want adam lambert 😦 i know hes not asian but i can just so imagine him with chairman meow, hosting outrageous parties with “for your entertainment” playing in the background hahaha!
