New character posters of Clary and Jace unveiled at WonderCon
Shadowhunters came out in force to WonderCon on Saturday for The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones panel.
Fans were treated to not only the new theatrical trailer (which we heard is EPIC and had fans screaming), which debuts online Monday, but also to two new character posters featuring Clary Fray (Lily Collins) and Jace Wayland (Jamie Campbell Bower).

For the majority of the fandom that was unable to attend WonderCon, full video of the Mortal Instruments panel (excluding the trailer) will be posted by Rama Screen later on.

Although I think the posters are AMAZING, I do have two little problems with them. First, Clary’s hair looks brown in her poster, and second, Jace’s eyes are supposed to be gold not blue! Apart from that, I love the posters ❤
Agreed! I wish Lily’s hair was redder and Jamie’s eyes to be gold.

Cool! I totally want Clary’s outfit, and Jace looks so…*Sighs* Jace. I love these two posters, I will be even more grateful, when the trailer comes out! I can’t wait for Monday.
Jamie doesn’t have gold eyes in the movie because they learned early on that he couldn’t wear contacts, same for Lily. Both actors did a lot of their own stunts, and unfortunately, contact lenses can mess with peoples peripheral vision, which it did for Lily and Jamie. With all the stunts they did, they really couldn’t have afforded to have that part of their vision messed with,
He couldn’t wear contacts? Really? um, did you forget about Twilight?? it pisses me off that he would wear contacts for Twilight but not CoB.
To be fair, he didn’t really do any stunts in twilight. He ran around a bit, but in City of Bones he’ll be doing flips and stabbing things and stuff.
well, jamie was doing alot more stuntwork(though maybe they digitally altered them) than twilight, so it may have be alot harder for him to wear them

I thought they said they were FOR SURE going to air it at WonderCon. Which is why I was looking forward to seeing a recording on YouTube or some place of it by one of the lucky fans who got be there. I guess I’ll have to wait a little more. 😦

In some of the other pictures of the posters Jamie’s eyes look gold. In this one they look blue. Like Gabrielle mentioned above, I know Jamie would not be able to do all the stunts and be comfortable with contacts so, for me, the excitement of him doing all of his own stunts far makes up for the blue eyes instead of gold. The next few months before the movie comes out are going to be so exciting with all the publicity. Can’t wait.
I agree. I don’t care about Jace not having gold eyes. In fact I really love Jamie’s blue eyes and I think blue eyes suit him way better. It’s just awesome that he does all his own stunts and that for sure is better than him having gold eyes.
I feel the same about Clary’s hair. Brownish/red or even brown, it’s more important how Lily portrays Clary than the color of her hair.
I so can’t wait for the trailer and the movie!!!! 🙂

I’m liking the Jace poster but the Clary poster isn’t right in my eyes. Clary isn’t a shadowhunter yet and the poster is misleading in a way. I don’t know I would have preferred her looking more ‘normal’…more like any one of us and not trying to copy the shadowhunter ‘look’….bring on the trailer!

clary’s eyes should be green. Jace’s eyes should be gold. my only problems. otherwise, love, love, LOVE! having a panic attack waiting for the trailer
These are so beautiful<3 but the only thing ruining them for me is Clary's hair. I'm not bothered about Jace's eyes, but the flame-red hair is a big tie to The Infernal Devices with *spoiler if you haven't already read the series* Charlotte and Henry. Clary's red hair is what you think of when they talk about Henry, and it's all those sort of links between series and books that make Cassandra Clares books so great.
Still, I'm sure all the actors will do a great job, and maybe as the movies go on, Lily Collins will feel more comfortable dying her hair red because she knows she'll be doing the movies.
I love the posters! The only thing is Jace is supposed to have golden eyes and Clary is supposed to have green eyes, but for a movie I suppose they couldn’t get all of that done, so I just won’t let it bother me. They really are great and I’d like to see all the people who hate Jamie for Jace to see this poster. That’ll show them!!!
I’m amazed at how little I care anymore about details such as eye, hair colour, etc. Maybe it’s because there has been so many book to movie adaptations lately that I feel I’ve started to get a grasp that adaptations have to be allowed some artistic/creative licence from the books. Film adaptations are works of art themselves, just using someone else’s work as the starting point. I find that I’m looking forward to what people can add to the story I already love. The Hunger Games really clinched this for me. The actors were really good, the script was great, the visuals were beyond what I had imagined. It wasn’t exactly like the book, yet it was amazing in its own right. I’m hoping the same happens with City of Bones. Take the heart of the story I love, but make it work excellently in the film version – give me the story at a different level, but do it well!
