I woke up at about 8 am to get ready for the day, I got dressed, and then promptly checked twitter for any new location updates. I saw that a lot of people were going to st james cemetery and in fact, none of the TMI set was there! I then searched twitter to the best of my ability and found a couple of pictures, and the fact that they were filming at a coffee shop today. I searched on google maps and found a ‘Java Joe’s’ at Front Street in Toronto. I thought, whatever, and then went to pick up my friend and off we went! Around 12 we were in the car driving, when we checked twitter once again for set updates and found that @gleegirl27 deciphered Shannon’s photo and figured out the address of where Shannon saw the taxi cab and was reportedly on set! My friend and screamed so loud and we redirected our gps to take us to Queen Street East. We arrived there around 1. Thank the lord we didn’t go to the Front Street location, or we would’ve been on the other side of the city! We parked our car in a near parking lot and off we went to see our beautiful miss collins and gorgeous Robbie! Right off the bat we spotted Lily, or what maybe could’ve been her stunt double. She was filming a scene where she was running down the street and pushed through some passing pedestrians. Once we realized it was Lily, we smiled and waved at her and she smile and waved right back! We were so happy! Apparently Jamie was only there in the morning so we didn’t get to see him.
We were on the opposite side of the street where Clary was running, and as we tried to move up the street, we talked to a couple of extras, but some of the crew told us to move back cause they were shooting so we did. After that take was done we moved up the street to as close to the cameras (and Lily!) as we could get. We met a couple of other girls who we talked to around there, they were very very nice. At that point we saw Robbie in his adorable glasses. We wanted to get even closer so we crossed the street to the side where Lily and Robbie were standing. We stopped right behind a shop and were about 10m away from them. I looked behind me and saw Sandra (@Shadowhunting) from twitter! We said hi and chit-chatted, but then Sandra, my friend and I decided we wanted to get even closer so we moved up a bit. The scene they were shooting was where Clary gazes and the ground and Simon walks over onto the street and goes “Clary…Clary…CLARY!”, we were almost catatonic with joy at seeing our favourite book being filmed. After the did a couple of takes of that scene, my friend decided to go right up to Robbie and Lily who were talking. I was a little hesitant cause I really didn’t want to bother them since they were working so hard in this heat! I followed right behind her and came face to face with ROBERT SHEEHAN AND LILY COLLINS. I almost died, we said hi and asked them to sign our books, which they did, and told Lily she looked gorgeous and Robbie that he was my perfect Simon. By then, a bunch of other fans moved in behind us, and Lily got taken away to do a rehearsal or something. We were just about to ask Robbie if we could get a picture, when another girl butted right in front of us and asked him the same thing, it was kinda rude. After he took the picture with the girl he had to leave, but he said he’d come back if he could.
After that we just waited for a while with Sandra and the girls from before, we also saw Shannon there too. The publicist came up to Sandra to talk about her blog and we talked to her for a while. Then she crossed the street and went to get the screenwriter (Jessica Postigo) and brought her over to us. We got her to sign our books and take a picture with us! She was very nice, she also said she was working on the screenplay for City Of Ashes!
After that, we waited a bit more for any of the actors to come out, but they didn’t. So we decided it was time to go, it was soo fun! One of the best days of my entire life!
Thanks to Hailey for this fantastic set report! Loving all the details about the scene they were filming!
