We’ve got our first director for Shadowhunters!

Deadline has reported that McG will direct the pilot episode of the ABC Family show.

McG will also serve as executive producer on Shadowhunters alongside showrunner Ed Decter. McG has previously worked on Supernatural and The O.C.

Shadowhunters has been ordered for a straight-to-series order of 13 episodes. If successful the network will order more episodes, but 13 episodes are guaranteed regardless.

Filming is set to begin in May in Toronto.

    the wait continues…

  2. Isn´t McG also somehow involved with Supernatural?
Cause that show is definitely amazing.

  3. I feel better about this show already. Glad they are keeping it 13 episodes for a better story, and to prolong it if we get more seasons. They should make it come out during the summer. That’s when all the cool shows start up again.

  4. I’m impressed they got someone familiar with the paranormal.

Artemis I’m also glad they are keeping it to 13 episodes. Less room for filler.

I just wish we knew the cast already

  10. So I love supernatural a lot because of the way the, well, supernatural stuff is. But honestly, in spn they are really wishy-washy about relationships. Like there’s all this potential for romance and stuff but it never happens. So I don’t know if this news means shadowhunters will turn out like supernatural or not, but if it does I really hope the love web and wonderful relationships are still included.

    • The difference with the romance on SPN verses TMI is that the books have already set the couples up, and the one I was worried about (Malec) was promised to Cassie. SPN has no source material it’s being made from, plus the last two seasons (9 and 10) where that potential has dwindled a bit or well been pushed to the side line? The two seasons McG hasnt’ worked on.
