Second week of filming has wrapped
Filming on the highly-anticipated THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES on Monday in Toronto and Hamilton and filmed through Friday before giving the cast and crew the weekend off.
There was no shortage of news in the form of set photos or set report, as fans and photogs alike were on the scene to capture the action.
They filmed two pivotal scenes: the Pandemonium Club in downtown Toronto and Hotel Dumort in Hamilton.

TMI Set Day 6 Recap
The second week-and Day 6– of filming on THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES started where it all began: The Pandemonium Club.
Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell Bower, Robbie Sheehan, Kevin Zegers, Jemima West and a handful of extras were all on set to for the pivotal opening scene.

Gabriel Yared to score THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES
Oscar-winner Gabriel Yared will compose the score for THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES.
Clare revealed the news when answering a fan’s question about the movie soundtrack, which is something entirely different.
Yared won an Oscar for his score on THE ENGLISH PATIENT and has also scored movies such as COLD MOUNTAIN, THE TALENTED MR. RIPLEY and CITY OF ANGELS.
Sony shares CITY OF BONES production still
Sony Pictures shared an exclusive production still on the official MORTAL INSTRUMENTS movie Facebook page that gives fans a first look at the City of Bones.

Sony seeking global licensing partners for MORTAL INSTRUMENTS
Back in June, we first learned that Sony Pictures Consumer Products had acquired the global licensing rights to Constantin Film’s THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS.
According to License! Global, Sony is now looking for global licensing partners for various types of merchandise, including apparel and accessories, gift and novelty items, beauty, mobile and social games, stationery, publishing, collectibles and housewares
Cassandra Clare shares details from dinner with cast
A couple of days before filming began on THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES, author Cassandra Clare sent the fandom into a frenzy when she shared that she was having dinner with Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell Bower, Kevin Zegers, Jemima West, Aidan Turner and director Harald Zwart.
Clare talked about why she was able to disclose the dinner, relaying fan questions to the cast and when she is returning to Toronto to visit the set.
MORTAL INSTRUMENTS wins ‘Most Anticipated 2013 Summer Movie’ poll
The theatrical release is less than a year away (August 23, 2013), but THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES is already garnering recognition as one of next summer’s most anticipated releases.
THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES was nominated for ‘Most Anticipated 2013 Summer Movie’ by Next Movie and dominated the poll, taking 78% of the total vote.
New CLOCKWORK PRINCESS snippets
Cassandra Clare shared two new snippets from CLOCKWORK PRINCESS:
1) Will began to move toward the door to join Charlotte. Halfway there, he turned back, and crossed the room to Tessa: “Please,” he said, “while I am with him, would you do something for me?”
Tessa looked up and swallowed. He was too close, too close: all the lines, shapes, angles of Will filled her field of vision as the sound of his voice filled her ears. “Yes, certainly,” she said. “What is it?”
2) Her throat ached: adoration, heartbreak, in equal measure. “Kiss me,” she said. “Please.”
Social impact & cultural significance of Hollywood casting Godfrey Gao as Magnus
While Edward Zo, one of the many actors who auditioned for Magnus Bane, didn’t get the part in THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES, he and the other Asian actors that auditioned have shown their support of Godfrey Gao’s casting.
With whitewashing happening everywhere in Hollywood nowadays, author Cassandra Clare stood firm on her belief that the actor the studio cast as Magnus should be Asian or part-Asian.
Harassment on the THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES set
CanadaGraphs–who isn’t even a fan as they clearly stated–went to the MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES set with a couple of things in mind: get autographs of Lily Collins and Lena Headey and take photos of the set.
After being asked repeatedly not to photograph the scene, this person insisted on defying orders and doing so anyway. And then this person harassed the crew about getting Lily to sign autographs and when both Lily and the crew said no this person threatened to take even more photographs until Lily signed.
Dirty Sexy ‘D’ Scene coming in CLOCKWORK PRINCESS
Something that fans have been looking forward to discovering in the previous three Cassandra Clare books are the Dirty Sexy Scenes.
It all began in CITY OF FALLEN ANGELS with the scene Clare termed “Dirty Sexy Alley Scene.” It soon after became a phenomenon in the fandom and spawned two similar scenes in chronological order: Dirty Sexy Balcony Scene (CLOCKWORK PRINCE) and Dirty Sexy Club Scene (CITY OF LOST SOULS).
Last week Clare revealed that there would indeed be another Dirty Sexy Scene in CLOCKWORK PRINCESS, which is due out March 19, 2013.
There’s a DSDS.
Week 3 Filming Update
Filming on THE MORTAL INSTRUMENTS: CITY OF BONES has wrapped its second week of filming and will enjoy a three-day weekend before returning to work in downtown Toronto on Tuesday.
Executive producer Martin confirmed that Aidan Turner (Luke) is scheduled for next week, where they will begin filming at Luke’s bookstore.
